I topped up the sugar dispenser and dropped some sugar on this red plastic dinner tray. And it sounded like … sugar falling on a plastic tray.. But I figured this sound was the sum of all the sounds the individual grains of sugar hitting the tray. So I wondered whether you can hear it if just one grain of sugar fell. I figured one wouldn’t. So I tried it. And you can. And it’s just the littlest of sounds.
